Managing the trauma of PA

PTSD is a single life threatening event.

Complex trauma or complex PTSD is a chronic and repeated trauma of an interpersonal nature.

Research by Dr Sue Whitcombe showed this and the feeling of “helplessness” that alienated parents experienced by the personal attacks or ignoring from the other parent, the cruel words, behaviours and ignoring from their children and the additional projections of blame, judgement and frustration of professionals and the family court system.

If some days all you can do is drag yourself to the sofa. Or if all you do is manage to put the kettle on to make coffee.
